Regular City Council Meeting— 02/09/04 <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 25 <br />adequate spots on the Twin Lakes Business/Property Owner <br />category. <br />City Manager Beets clarif'ied the number of applications received <br />to-date, including those received yet today prior to the meeting, <br />noting that six people had applied for eight slots or the <br />Business/Property Owner category, and with expanding the "at <br />large" members from one to two; and expanding the "Small <br />Business" category, from two to three, along with Commission <br />Chairs, it would bring the panel to 25 members. <br />Mayor Klausing again sought consensus on the appointment <br />process. <br />Councilmember Maschka opined his support for appointing all <br />applicants as outlined by Mayor Klausing's recommendation. <br />Councilmember Kough expressed opposition to one of the <br />appointees in the Small Business Owner category, opining his <br />preference to vote on individual appointees. <br />Councilmember Schroeder opined his lack of support in <br />appointing Dan wall, given his representation through the <br />Roseville Visitor's Association already. <br />Following further discussion, it was the consensus of <br />Councilmembers to vote on individual appointments. <br />John Kysylyczyn, 3083 Victoria Street N <br />Mr. Kysylyczyn sought clarification regarding the appointment <br />process, and referred to Mr. Shardlow's December 12, 2003 <br />correspondence and his recommendations on the selection <br />process, and opined that appointees were being recommended by <br />select Councilmembers on a political basis due to their support of <br />Council candidates. Mr. Kysylyczyn polled Councilmembers on <br />which appointees had provided campaign funds to their re- <br />election campaigns. <br />Debate ensued among Councilmembers and Mr. Kysylyczyn, <br />with no consensus achieved on the appointment process. <br />
