Regular City Council Meeting — 02/09/04 <br />DRAI+� Minutes - Page 34 <br />proposed redevelopment, the majority of these properties in the <br />Twin Lakes AUAR, d/b/a Northco Real Estate Services), Mark <br />Rancone (Roseville Properties, 2575 North Fairview Avenue, <br />Suite 250, Roseville), Kent Carlson (Ryan Companies US, <br />Inc.), and Gale Pederson (Multicare Associates of the Twin <br />Cities, Twin Lakes Health Building, 1835 County Road C West). <br />Councilmember Schroeder noted that he had nothing against Ms. <br />Pederson, but was seeking the right person to represent the <br />business and property owners. <br />Community Development Director Dennis Welsch commented <br />that following the direction to staff after the last Council <br />meeting, staff had sent a second personal letter to the actual <br />property owner of record, and did not specify who represented <br />them, just that their business be represented. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Ihlan, Schroeder, Maschka, Kough and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />Mayor Klausing congratulated those appointed, and thanked each <br />applicant and encouraged them to make application in the future <br />for Commission vacancies. Mayor Klausing noted that each <br />person on the bench attempted to do their best for the benefit of <br />the City, but recognized the different perspectives. <br />Councilmember Schroeder acknowledged Mayor Klausing's <br />attempt to find common ground, but recommended that in the <br />future, the overall community benefit be upheld, rather than his <br />opined perception of political appointments. <br />Councilmember Ihlan sought clarif'ication, for public <br />information, as to meeting times, locations, public comment <br />availability and whether they would be advertised and/or <br />televised to allow the public to monitor the panel's progress. <br />Mayor Klausing noted that all city-sponsored meetings were <br />open to the public, unless otherwise noted. <br />Community Development Director Welsch advised that, due to <br />
