Regular City Council Meeting — 02/23/04 <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 23 <br />maintaining commission continuity. <br />Councilmember Schroeder concurred with Councilmember <br />Ihlan's comments regarding the length of term limits, <br />recommending that they be brought into a more realistic term for <br />service. <br />Councilmember Maschka opined his willingness to look at term <br />limits. <br />Mayor Klausing expressed concern in making the decision <br />tonight. <br />Councilmember Schroeder recommended additional information <br />be sought on those seeking reappointment. <br />Mayor Klausing noted that he interpreted reapplication of those <br />eligible for reappointment as a political issue; and questioned <br />what criteria the Council applied in their decision-making <br />regarding the reappointment process. <br />Councilmember Schroeder noted that each individual <br />Councilmember had their own criteria. <br />Mayor Klausing sought Council consensus as to whether the <br />Council wished to proceed with the resolution or modify it. <br />Klausing moved, Kough seconded, moved to table the item until <br />March 8, 2004. <br />John Kysylyczyn, 3083 Victoria Avenue N <br />Mr. Kysylyczyn addressed alleged errors in the staff report; <br />language related to the Public Works and Transportation <br />Commission appointments and no more than two consecutive <br />terms serves; clarification of appointments to the HRA in <br />accordance with statutory requirements; and recommended that <br />new applications be developed and up-to-date information <br />sought. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Ihlan, Schroeder, Maschka, Kough and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />
