Regular City Council Meeting — 03/08/04 <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 17 <br />expiring March 31, 2004, pendi�g further determination on <br />Resolution 9372, with the exception of the Police Civil Service <br />Commission; with reappointment to the Human Rights <br />Commission of Howard Wagner and Jacqueline LeMay; <br />reappointment to the Parks and Recreation Commission of <br />Richard Jacobson and Rochelle Westlund; and Todd Anderson to <br />the Public Works and Transportation Commission. <br />Councilmember Schroeder spoke in support of the motion; <br />expressing his preference for term limits that extend into a later <br />time frame in the year; and recommending further discussion on <br />those term extensions at a later meeting. <br />City Attorney Anderson addressed the term of the Police Civil <br />Service Commission, and the Council's lack of authority to <br />extend that term as per State Statute; recommending that the term <br />be left as is, with no Council action, allowing the existing <br />Commissioner to serve until a successor is qualified and <br />appointed. <br />Councilmembers concurred. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Ihlan, Kough, Maschka, Schroeder and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />Further discussion ensued, with consensus being that further <br />discussion be held on commissions until the April City Council <br />Study Session. <br />8.
