Approve Purchase of Police Department Work Stations
Public Works Director and Construction Project Manager Duane
Schwartz noted that it was anticipated that the Police Department
would be moving into their new area in May of this year,
necessitating the purchase of some furniture to facilitate that
move. Mr. Schwartz advised that the overall construction project
budget had reserved approximately $300,000 for furniture and
fixtures; and that it was anticipated that an estimated 90-95% of
existing furniture would be reused.
Mr. Schwartz noted that most of the existing and proposed
workstations consisted of refurbished Hermann Miller brand
workstation units with related filing storage available from
Alternative Business Systems under an existing cooperative state
contract. Mr. Schwartz noted that this would represent the first
batch of furnishings from the allotted $300,000 budgeted
amount.
Maschka moved, Schroeder seconded, approval of the purchase
of refurbished workstations, including installation from
Alternative Business Systems in an amount not to exceed
$99,533.00.
Councilmember Maschka noted that this item did not need to go
out for public bid, as it was a state contract.
Roll Call
Ayes: Ihlan, Maschka, Schroeder and Klausing.
Nays: None.
12.
