Agenda Section: Item Description: Approving Additional Change Orders to the City's Construction Project Background: The building project continues to progress with an expected move in date for the Police Deparhnent in early May. The Public Works vehicle storage area, maintenance offices and vehicle maintenance area are now occupied. The remodel of the locker rooms and Park Maintenance area are nearly complete. Landscaping and additional parking lot construction are now underway. We continue to identify unforeseen constructability issues and some inconsistencies and omissions in the drawings and field conditions. Some of the changes are due to conditions encountered tying into the existing City Hall. Staff has also identified changes necessary for efficient future operations as we see the new spaces develop. We have written appropriate change orders to contracts to reflect such. Discussion: The following are the change orders we are requesting at this time and a brief description of each. These changes are necessary to construct the project under existing building codes and to result in a project that is functional for the users and have the longevity expected of a public building. The following change orders are recommended for approval at this time. Bartlev Sales Companv, Inc. Add $ 362 Add one detention shower seat at the shower in the detention area, as called out in PR #5. Add $ 362 Steinbrecher Paintin�, Inc. Add $ 194 Add for additional paint at soffits per ASI #21. Add $ 260 Deduct painting where acoustic ceiling is being added, as shown in PR #36. Deduct $ 66 Cosnev Corp. Inc. Add $ 295 Change the food area cabinets from 12" deep to 14" deep. Add $ 295 Central Wire and Iron Works Add $194 Because of existing ductwork, the wire mesh partitions had to be modified and as a result, more material was added. Add $ 194
