City Council Study Session — 04/19/04 <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 26 <br />E. M. Bahnemann, 2656 N. Lexington Avenue <br />Mr. Bahnemann addressed a suggestion of Councilmember <br />Kough's during the discussion relating to live trapping and <br />moving the deer to another habitat, opining that there was <br />evidence that most of them died after relocation and didn't prove <br />to be a viable option. <br />14. Discuss a Joint Meeting with the Roseville 623 School District <br />Board <br />Mayor Klausing addressed the shared fate of schools and cities <br />and areas of cooperative concern. Mayor Klausing sought <br />Council comment on their interest in meeting j ointly with the <br />Roseville and/or Mounds View School Boards. Mayor Klausing <br />noted the Roseville School District facing a twenty-five percent <br />(25%) reduction in Title I funding, in addition to declining <br />enrollment and other funding cuts. <br />Councilmember Kough spoke in support of cooperation between <br />the School Districts and City in joint ventures that would be <br />productive for both parties. <br />Councilmember Schroeder spoke in support of ineeting with the <br />Districts, stipulating that meetings be held with all, not just one <br />District; and further stipulating that a closed agenda be <br />developed by the City and reviewed by the School District before <br />finalization. <br />Mayor Klausing concurred with Councilmember Schroeder's <br />recommendation for a clear agenda; noting that additional one- <br />on-one time may be beneficial in developing a more personal <br />relationship between the entities. <br />Councilmember Schroeder reiterated his support of an agenda <br />and meeting purpose, whether it was to get to know each other or <br />to accomplish something. <br />Councilmember Ihlan concurred with the advantages of having <br />an agenda prepared prior to the meeting; suggesting that <br />consideration be given to an agenda prepared jointly to ensure <br />Discuss a Joint <br />Meeting with the <br />Roseville 623 <br />School District <br />Board <br />
