Apri13,2004 Community Town Hall Meeting
Citizen Concerns and Staff Responses
R9. City staff will investigate what Minneapolis is doing and report back to the Council,
with notice to this particular resident in case he wishes to attend that Council Meeting.
.*************..*.
C10. What can the City do to clean up the litter along highway exit and entrance ramps
within the City?
R10. In response to comments about litter &om several residents, the City Council
declared April as "Keep Roseville Beautiful" Month, and they established an Ad Hoc
Litter Control Committee chaired by Councilmember Kough. This Committee — and
other volunteers — will be picking up litter in the City throughout the month of April.
In addition: the City has an Adopt-a-Park program; City crews worked double shifts to
remove sand from City streets already this spring; and the City has utilized Ramsey
County Sentence-to-Serve offenders in cleaning litter throughout the City; Northwestern
College students, Roseville Area High School students, Kiwanis, NeighborhoodBlock
Watch groups, scout troops, North American Bank Corporation staff, and others have
also volunteered for this special City clean-up in April.
Residents may contact Litter Coordinator Patty Hoag at 651-792-7028 to volunteer to
help clean-up the City. If residents note an area in the City with special litter problems,
they are invited to call Patty, Streets Supervisor Steve Zweber at 651-792-7952, or Parks
Supervisor Ken Hoxmeier at 651-792-7141.
