City Council Study Session — 05/17/04 DRAFT Minutes - Page 8 Mayor Klausing identified that three decisions needed to be considered: 1) Does the City Council want to meet jointly with School District No. 623; 2) When can a meeting be scheduled; and 3) What agenda topics should be included. Further discussion ensued related to individual Councilmember schedules; input from the School Board on any discussion items they may have; and . Councilmember Schroeder recommended that staff prepare a more streamlined draft agenda to present to the School Board for their input, noting that Items iii. and iv. Could represent the entire agenda to a11ow adequate discussion. Councilmember Maschka noted that he would like to have discussion, from the School Board's perspective, on Item l.b., regarding funding for school and city services under current budget restraints of both entities. Mayor Klausing noted his desire to discuss items that impact both entities that may have joint solutions or cooperative entities; and also trends that may affect both groups. Councilmember Maschka concurred, noting focus needed to be on joint ventures that have proven successful in the past as a catalyst for future successful ventures. Mayor Klausing directed staff to determine the availability of an alternate date; at which time the City Council could ca11 a Special Council meeting to accommodate schedules; with revision to a draft agenda as per the above referenced priorities. 7.
