Options Presented at the May 13 Meeting
Using the information collected, City Staff developed four options to present to property owners at
the second public information meeting on May 13th. In light of the anticipated attendance we
focused on the easterly residential district. All of the options meet the design standards required to
use the Federal funds. Many of the property owners in attendancewere not supportive of a project
that met Federal Design guidelines. As shown on the attached feedback summary a majority of the
owners prefer a"ti u Build" alternative. A short description of the options:
Option 1: Pathway on one side of the street
■ 8 foot wide bituminous (or concrete) pathway
■ On north side of the street between Lexington and Rice Street.
■ 5 foot grass strip between street and pathway
■ Storm sewer construction on a majority of the corridor.
Option 2: Sidewall{ on both sides of the street
■ 5-6 foot concrete sidewalk on both sides of the street.
■ 5 foot grass strip between road and sidewalk.
■ Each facility would be one way.
' Complete storm sewer construction on both sides of the road.
■ On street parling would not be impacted.
Option 3: Sidewall{ with bike lanes
■ 5-6 foot concrete sidewalk on north side of the street.
■ 5 foot grass strip between street and sidewalk
■ Stripe shoulders as one way bike lanes.
■ Widen existing shoulders by one foot.
■ Storm sewer construction on a majority of the corridor.
■ No parking allowed on either side of the road.
■ Construct parking lane near Dale Street for Concordia School.
Option 4: Reconstruct Road and build Attached Pathway
■ Reconstruct County Road B-2
■ 32 feet wide with curb and gutter
■ Lower the street in some areas
 Complete storm sewer improvements
■ Assess for a portion of the street reconstruction costs
■ 8 foot pathway on north side of street
■ 2 foot paved strip between curb and pathway
■ No parking on one side of the street
■ Street grades must be a minimum of 0.5% for curb drainage.
■ Street reconstruction cost between Lexington and Rice Street =$2,000,000 (+
engineering)
County Road B-2 Trail
Feasibility Report
May 24,2004
 ,
