and program space. It is proposed that the space be added to the mix of other rooms within
the City Hall Complex and scheduled by Parks and Recreation.
It is further proposed that the basement be mold abated and maintained as an open air holding
space for seasonal Parks and Recreation Department and limited affiliated group equipment
storage such as bats, balls, program supplies, coolers and for situations such as seasonal
items being delivered and stored for a short time, etc..
POLICY OBJECTIVE
The proposal is consistent with previous policy of providing the best community space within
available resources and to facilitate communitylaffiliated groups.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Initially, it is anticipated that the upper level space be used essentially "as is" with minimal
modifications in order to assess the functionality and to keep the costs to a minimum. The
major cost would be associated with the basement cleanup.
CONCLUSION
This is an excellent opportunity for garnering some of the much needed citylcommunityl
affiliated group space that was forfeited with the loss of the Roseville Activity Center and the
anticipated future loss of the Fairview Community Center space. It is anticipated that the space
would become available by October 1, 2004.
