REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL ACTION <br />DATE: 08/23/04 <br />ITEM NO: 3.f <br />Department Approval: Agenda Section: <br />DPW/TP Consent <br />Item Description: Request by SpeedwaySuperAmerica for a CONDITIONAL USE <br />PERMIT to a11ow96 sq. ft. of e�erior seasonal merchandise display & <br />storage at the SuperAmerica Fuel and Convenience Store located at 2295 <br />Rice Street (PF3589). <br />1.� REQUESTED ACTION: <br />L. l Speedway SuperAmerica, operator of a fuel and convenience store located at 2295 Rice <br />Street requests approval of a conditional use permit to establish an exterior storage and <br />display area at the retail location. A conditional use permit is required because the <br />facility is located within a B-2 general business zoning district where outdoor display and <br />storage is permitted (Section 1005.0015 and 1005.09) only through issuance of a <br />conditional use permit. <br />L_� The conditional use permit process for this request allows the City to consider <br />compatibility with adjoining properties; impacts on traffic, public facilities, and property <br />values; impact on the general health, safety, and public welfare; and compatibility with <br />the City's comprehensive plan. I At its meeting on August 4,2004 the ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />recommended (6-0) approval of the request by Speedway SuperAmerica for a <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT to allow 96 sq. ft. of e�erior seasonal merchandise <br />display and storage at the SuperAmerica Fuel and Convenience Store located at 2295 <br />Rice Street, subject to conditions. The Community Development Department concurs <br />with the Commission recommendation. <br />�.� SUGGESTEDACTION: <br />3.
