Apartments:
Apartmentsby their definition are rental units where there is an owner of a complex who
collects rent either on a monthlybasis or a longerperiod of time through a lease. The
person who rents does not own the unit but rather only its contents. In addition, they are
not responsible for exterior maintenance of the structure and the normal wear and tear of
the interior. However, they are responsible for damage caused by the interior which is
why a damage deposit is typically collected prior to the rental of the unit.
I f Four out of five residents who live in rental housing in Roseville live in an apartment.
1 L Apartments are far and away the dominant type of rental multifamilyhousing represented
I in the city.
