However,l3 percent (559
] 1 units) of Roseville's complexes hae a value under $50,000 with an aerage value per
] unit of $42,600.
!
I
I
1
17
I
I

1
2

4
c

?

3l
Income:
Household incomes in the apartments are correspondingly less than the incomes of
residents of other types of multifamilyhousing, particularly incomes in ownership units.
Incomes aerage just around $30,000 per household in the apartments, while the aerage
across all of the multifamilyunits is over $37,000. The medianhousehold income in 1999
was $51,056 with an estirnated median income in 2002 of $56,000.
Diversity:
Regarding race in the city, apartments are more diverse in their demographic makeup
than other multifamilyhousing, though the apartments are still just under 80 percent
white non-Hispanic, compared to 82.5 percent white, non-Hispanic residents in the
overall multifamilyhousing spectrum. Asians comprise the largest segment of nonwhite
residents at nearly 8 percent of the apartmentpopulation; the next largest community of
color dwelling in the apartments is African Americans at 5.8 percent. These figures
correspond fairly closely with diversity in the overall multifamilyhousing market in
Roseville.
MULTIFAMILY HOUSING REPORT FOR ROSEVILLE - DRAFT 8/16/04 P 12
