(on the modified roadway system) are calculated by summing the base volumes with the
additional traffic generated by the redevelopment.
Trip Generation
The ITE Trip Generation Report was used to forecast the new trips generated by the
redevelopment for the AM pek hour, PM peal{ hour and daily periods. The trip generation
results are shown on Table 3.
The trips generated by the SuperTarget are obviously not all new trips; many of them exist today
for the inplace Roseville Target store. To develop an estimate of how many new trips will be
added by the renovation to the SuperTaiget facility, the trip generation "differential" was
computed between a discount store the size of the current Taig and a discount superstore the
size of the SuperTarget. This differential vas added to the current area turn movement counts to
represent the new trips generated by the SuperTarget.
New trip generation vas computed for smaller retail components and two restaurants. For this
generation, a 20% multi-purpose trip reduction factor was applied for shared (or multi-purpose)
trips on-site. This reflects an estimate that 20% of trips destined for these sites would visit the
SuperTarget or another site in the study area.
The trip generation results are shown on Table 3.
Page 3
