VISION STATEMENT <br />Roseville shall be a community which has as its highest priority the quality of life - both for <br />those who live here today and in the future and for those who work here. Roseville shall be <br />committed to preserve, promote, and improve the beauty, vitality, safety, and serenity of <br />the total environment in which its citizens live and work. Further development of business <br />and industry, shopping, transportation, housing, entertainment, leisure and recreation <br />opportunities shall be in harmony with the commitment Roseville has made to its <br />environment and quality of life, without compromising the ability of future generations to <br />meet their own needs. <br />B. GENERAL LAND USE GOALS: <br />1- Maintain and improve the community character and identity; encourage projects which <br />strengthen our children, families, and neighborhoods. <br />�. Maintain the existing residential areas of the City as designated on the land use plan. <br />Identify and maintain approximately the same balance (or same percentages) of the various <br />land uses throughout the community, allowing for some flexibility. <br />*• Eliminate blight and prevent deterioration of buildings and infrastructure. Smve for better <br />aesthetic appeal. <br />�. Maintain and continue development of a strong economic base and create a favorable <br />climate for the operation of responsible free enterprise systems. <br />54 Encourage opportunities for a diverse population with respect to age, ethnicity, and <br />economic composition. <br />(�, Provide active and passive open space for the enjoyment of Roseville residents. <br />'�. Protect and enhance the natural ecological systems within the City. <br />�, Enable the convenient movement of persons and goods within the City in a safe manner <br />by motorized and non-motorized means. <br />�, Provide the services and facilities essential for the protection, operation, and use of public <br />and private property in the City in a cost effective manner. <br />.�_ <br />
