(Ord. 620, 4-27-1970; 1995 Code) �� <br />Payment of Charges: Any prepayment or overpayment of charges may be retained by � <br />the City and applied on subsequent quarterly statements. (Ord. 407, 11-18-1963; <br />1990 Code) <br />Action to Collect Charges: Any amount due for water charges in excess of ninety <br />(90) days past due on October 1 of any year shall be certifiedto the County Auditor <br />for collection with real estate taxes in the following year. This certification shall take <br />place regardless of who applied for water services, whether it was the owner, tenant <br />or other person. All applications for water service shall contain an explanation in <br />clear language that unpaid water bills will be collected in real estate taxes in the <br />following year. The City shall also have the right to bring a civil action or other <br />remedies to collect unpaid charges. (Ord. 661, 3-13-1972) <br />Penalty For Late Payment: Each quarterly billing for water service not paid when <br />due shall incur a penalty charge of ten percent (10°/o) of the amount past due. (1990 <br />Code, per letter dated 1-31-1997) <br />801.17: REPAIR OF LEAKS: <br />- . � �."`4 <br />�� •� � � �� <br />It shall be the responsibility of the consumer or owner to maintain the service pipe from <br />the water main into the house or building. In case of failure upon the part of any <br />consumer or owner to repair any leak occumng in such pipe within twenty four (24) <br />hours after verbal or written notice, the water will be shut off and will not be turned on <br />until the leak is repaired. When the waste of water is great, or when damage is likely to <br />result from the leak, the water may be turned off immediately pending repairs. A water <br />shutoff charge shall be made in an amount set by City Council resolution. (Ord. 530, 3- <br />20-1967; 1995 �.Qde) i r <br />�, - - .. 4 _ -'�- ... . • .� _._...e.. <br />801:��8: USE OF WATER FOR AIR CONDITIONERS: <br />A. Permit Required: Permits shall be required for the installation of all new air <br />conditioning systems to the public water system. Said permit shall be on forms as <br />provided by the City. <br />B. Water Conserving and Regulating Devices: All air conditioning systems which are <br />connected directly or indirectly with the public water system must be equipped with <br />water conserving and water regulating devices as approved by the Public Works <br />Director. (Ord. 388, 4-22-1963) <br />801.19: RESTRICTIONS AGAINST SPRINKLING AND OTHER <br />LIMITATIONS: <br />All water customers and consumers shall be governed by the applicable regulations <br />promulgated by the Board of Water Commissioners of the City of Saint Paul as to <br />limitations in the time and manner of using water and such other applicable regulations <br />promulgated by the City Council affecting the preservation, regulation and protection of <br />the water supply. (Ord. 388, 4-22-1963) <br />801.20: LIABILITY FOR DEFICIENCY OR SHUTOFFS: <br />The City shall not be liable for any deficiency or failure in the supply of water to <br />consumers, whether occasioned by shutting the water off for the purpose of making <br />repairs or connections or from any other cause whatever.
