City Council Special Study Session — 09/09/04 <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 10 <br />City Manager Beets and Finance Director Miller acknowledged <br />the potential of this application, and their monitoring of the <br />possibilities. <br />Mayor Klausing updated the City Council on the recent <br />subcommittee-level meeting held following the recent Housing <br />Summit. Mayor Klausing noted that he, Councilmember Ihlan, <br />HRA Chair Bill Majerus and two other representatives of the <br />HRA, Community Development Director Dennis Welsch, HRA <br />Executive Director Cathy Bennett, and City Manager Beets had <br />met to continue the discussions initiated at the Housing Summit. <br />Mayor Klausing noted that a portion of the discussion included <br />how the HRA and City Council could work more cooperatively <br />and improve communication. <br />Mayor Klausing noted that the outcome was for potential <br />involvement of a Council representative to sit on the HRA Board <br />as Liaison, possibly on a rotating basis, or with an Interim <br />Liaison position. Councilmember Maschka <br />recommended researching information from the City of <br />Bloomington and their recent experiences in implementation of <br />similar programs.
