Mayor Klausing spoke in support of the requested action, opining that the units were a positive addition to the community and given earlier actions by the City Council tonight, he was not in a position to support denial of the rezoning. Councilmember Schroeder opined his support of the requested action, noting that when the request had first been presented to the City Council, he was concerned about the screening of the building due to its size, but he noted that Figure L-3 shows that his concerns had been addressed very comprehensively related to the residential properties. Mr. Paschke concurred that the developer had addressed the needs at the site, as well as providing for additional landscaping at adjoining, off-site properties to provide further screening.
