City Council Study Session — 09/20/04
DRAFT Minutes - Page 23
Kysylyczyn reviewed his perspective of the process to-
date, the money spent to on the Stakeholder's Panel process
that could have been used for staff salaries, negating the
need to consider staff layoffs; and his personal impression
of the City Council's seating arrangement and their
probable vote on the project.
Mr. Kysylyczyn concluded his comments by encouraging
Council to make a decision, to stop wasting time and
money, and move onto other issues.
Mayor Klausing closed the public comment portion of the
meeting and thanked everyone for their attendance and their
participation; expressing his appreciation for the good
discussion, excellent questions and respectful tone.
Mayor Klausing further thanked, on behalf of the City Council,
Mr. Casserly and staff for their work to-date; and advised the
listening audience that the City Council would be addressing the
financial implications of the proposed project at their next
regular meeting scheduled for Monday, September 27, 2004.
City Campus Open House, Councilmember Schroeder
Comments
Councilmember Schroeder thanked the staff who took time from
their families and other activities to show off Roseville's new
facilities, specifically thanking the Police, Public Works, Parks
and Recreation, Community Development, Accounting and
Information Technology Departments. Councilmember
Schroeder noted that he had personally toured these facilities and
wanted to tell them they did a good job.
Councilmember Schroeder continued with written comments
regarding his observations during the day, as follows:
"However, I must say that as a Council Member I am
extremely angry and as a resident I am embarrassed
regarding the behavior of some Council Members and some
staff at the open house ceremony. In the past, the ceremonial
Rose award has had significant meaning and you all turned it
into a mockery, by your lack of respect in not attending a short
10 minute presentation. Mayor, Council members and Neal,
City Campus Open
House,
Councilmember
Schroeder
Comments
