City Council Regular Meeting —10/25/04 <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 20 <br />Community Development Department's line item budget for <br />Professional Services and expenditures to-date and those <br />remaining; and notification of property owners regarding <br />possible contamination of privately-owned wells. <br />[5.1] Maschka moved, Schroeder seconded, adoption of <br />Resolution No. 10255 entitled, "A Resolution Authorizing the <br />Mayor and City Manager to Submit an Application for <br />Contamination Investigation and Response Action Plan (RAP) <br />Development Grant for the Twin Lakes Groundwater Study <br />Areas;" in an amount not to exceed $37,500 to conduct an <br />additional assessment relating to areas where groundwater <br />contamination has been identified as part of the U.S. <br />Environmental Protection Agency-funded, Area-wide <br />Groundwater Contamination Study, with a local match of <br />$12,500 from the Community Development Professional <br />Services Fund budget. <br />Roll Call [5.1] <br />Ayes: Kough, Maschka, Ihlan, Schroeder and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />[5.2] Maschka moved, Schroeder seconded, authorization to the <br />City Manager to execute a contract with DPRA Environmental to <br />conduct the contamination investigation and the development of <br />a Response Action Plan (RAP) if the grant funds are awarded. <br />Roll Call [5.2] <br />Ayes: Kough, Maschka, Ihlan, Schroeder and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />John Rose OVAL <br />Mayor Klausing expressed concern regarding the apparent <br />misinformation being circulated among the public and various <br />user-groups regarding the OVAL. <br />Mayor Klausing requested that staff follow-up with <br />organizations regarding the process to-date regarding necessary <br />repairs at the OVAL, causes and options, along with the amount <br />of funds spent to-date to assess and correct the problem. <br />Mayor Klausing noted that staff would be bringing additional <br />
