City Council Regular Meeting —11/08/04
DRAFT Minutes - Page 10
regarding this Request for Council Action. Mr. Beets noted Certain Locations
that several years ago, MnDOT turned back to Ramsey
County the segment of Rice Street (Trunk Highway 49)
from I-694 to University Avenue; and that as a result, the
County acquired the operation and maintenance
responsibilities for traffic control signals along that section
of Rice Street. With that turn back and subsequent
jurisdiction, new maintenance agreements needed to be
executed for several intersections:
A reement # Intersection Parties to A reement
PW 2003-21 at County Road C Ramsey County, Cities of Little
Canada and Roseville
PW 2003-22 at County Road B-2 Ramsey County, Ciries of Little
Canada and Roseville
PW 2003-23 at Minnesota Street Ramsey County, Ciries of Little
Canada and Roseville
PW 2003-24 at County Road B Ramsey County, Cities of Little
Canada, Roseville and Ma lewood
PW 2003-26 at Roselawn Avenue Ramsey County, Cities of Roseville
and Ma lewood
PW 2003-27 at Larpenteur Avenue Ramsey County, Cities of Roseville
and Ma lewood
Councilmember Schroeder questioned whether the City had
a choice on this matter, noting that the signals were for
signal lights at County to County intersections.
City Engineer Debra Bloom responded that the City
historically pays for the electricity for the lights;
consideration may be given not to participate, was not sure
of potential repercussions; but offered to perform further
research.
Maschka moved, Schroeder seconded, tabling action on
approval of signal maintenance agreements numbers W
2003-21; PW 2003-22; PW 2003-23; PW 2003-24; PW
2003-26; and PW 2003-27 between the City of Roseville
and Ramsey County; and directed staff to provide further
research and information to the City Council at their
earliest convenience for future consideration.
Roll Call
Ayes: Schroeder, Kough, Maschka, Ihlan and Klausing.
