The Department has
extensive experience conducting controlled bums over the past 16 years. The site will be burned on a
day with southeasterly winds to eliminate smoke blowing across Rice Street and South
McCarrons Boulevard.
2.3 Lake Tosephine Countv Park. Ramsey County Parks personnel will conduct the bum at this
site on a day when winds are at a minimum and directed away from homes in the area.
2.3 Waterworks Park Site: Management of the prairie at the sma113-acre area within the Park
began last year. The site is surrounded by a trail, which provides an excellent firebreak.
This site will not be burned with a westerly wind, which would blow smoke toward the
closest homes east of the park.
2.4 In order to get proper weather and wind conditions, Ramsey County Parks and Recreation
Department is requesting that the permits be valid for a period from March 28 to May 10,
2000.
RCA-Ramsey County Parks & Recreation Dept 03.27.00
