Roseville Planning Commission-5/10/00 <br />RE: 391 South Owasso Blvd. <br />Members of the Planning Committee, Kristi and I are here to ask for your support by <br />recommending that the City Council approve of our request for a variance. We feel <br />that Mr. Paschke has provided a comprehensive report, which addresses the Cities <br />concerns, for which we are grateful. I would, however, like to take a couple minutes <br />and address 3 issues: <br />1) Unique physical features that could justify a variance: <br />. Previous house was rotten, the foundation leaked & basement was <br />moldy <br />. The requested action cites `a new 28' X 53' single family residential <br />home' - this is a bit deceiving, it includes the garage — the 1 S` floor <br />and basement are really only 28' X 30' <br />. Our proposal looks to save all of the trees <br />. 7% improvement of impervious ground cover <br />2) Economic concerns that may justify a variance: <br />• 3 children now living outside the school district - no bussing & 3 <br />different school schedules —1gt Grade, Kindergarten 8 ECFE <br />• House plans have been re-drawn to meet city code <br />requirements, we have worked with the City Planner,& staff since <br />January of this year �, <br />• Our family is paying additional monthly rent •'�`R'�0i �`vs�1D B cv.�sr, Lv.�-� <br />• Approval of this variance will increase the cities tax <br />revenue the day we move in <br />3) Community Concerns <br />#�1"'8u� Nt�w �tt�- <br />. Improve� safety by moving the garage off the street 30' <br />. Neighbors within 350' of our lot have all been supportive <br />.
