EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF A MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE, <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the <br />City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, State of Minnesota, was duly held in the City <br />Hall at 2660 Civic Center Drive, Rosevil:e, Minnesota, on May 22, 2000 <br />The following members were present: <br />and the following members were absent: <br />Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF RAMSEY COUNTY MAKING AN <br />APPLICATION FOR THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING & <br />URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD) BROWNFIELD ECONOMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT INNITIATIVE (BEDn GRANT FOR THE TWIN LAI�S <br />REDEVELOPMENT AREA <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville is located in Ramsey County and is a member <br />of the 7 City North Metro I-35W Corridor Coalition; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville has approved a redevelopment plan for the <br />Twin Lakes Business Park which is included as part of the economic and redevelopment <br />section of the Comprehensive Plan amended and adopted in December, 1998; and <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County is especially interested in working with the City of <br />Roseville on Twin Lakes Redevelopment Area because of the potential to create <br />employment opportunities in an area accessible to residents of the core city, St. Paul, as <br />well as to residents of the I-35W Corridor; and <br />WHEREAS, the HUD's BED1 funds are used to improve the viability of a <br />project financed with a Section 108 loan designed to help cities redevelop abandoned, <br />idled, or underutilized industrial and commercial facilities where redevelopment is <br />complicated by the environmental contamination; and <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County must be the applicant for the funds on behalf of <br />-he City of Roseville for implementation cf redevelopment in Twin Lakes; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville has the institutional, managerial and financial <br />capability to ensure adequate project administration of loan and grant funds. <br />
