REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL ACTION <br />DATE: 06/1 2/00 <br />ITEM NO: �-2 <br />DepartmentApproval: ager Approved: Agenda Section: <br />CONSENT <br />Request to extend the 60-day review deadline for a variance application an <br />1.0 BACKGROUND <br />l.l On May 25, 2000, the City of Roseville received an application by Ralph Jensen for a <br />variance from the required five-foot side yard setback for a driveway. <br />1.2 On May 30, 2000, the Roseville Development Review Committee (DRC) reviewed the <br />request for a variance to a11ow a driveway within the required five-foot side yard setback and <br />determined the application to be complete. However, the application missed the May 8, <br />2000, deadline for a June Planning Commission hearing and will not be considered by the <br />Roseville Planning Commission until their July 12, 2000 meeting. <br />1.3 Based on a receipt and acceptance date of May 25, 2000, the application has a review <br />deadline date of July 24, 2000. Although July 24, 2000 is a scheduled Council date, staff <br />recommends a 60-day extension consistent with Minnesota Statutes 15.99 should specific <br />issues arise. <br />2.0 STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the City Council, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 15.99, extend the <br />review deadline an additional 60 days. <br />3.0 SUGGESTED CITY COUNCIL ACTION <br />By resolution approve a 60-day e�ension to the Ralph Jenson variance application. <br />Prepared by.
