EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was duly held on the 27th day of June 2000, at 6:30 p.m. <br />The following members were present: <br />and the following were absent: <br />Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A VARIANCE TO SECTION 1012.02B2 (REQUIRED <br />YARDS & OPEN SPACES) OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY CODE FOR <br />PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2655 SHELDON STREET. <br />WHEREAS, Section 1012.02B2 (Required Yards & Open Spaces) stipulates that fences in <br />front yards shall be limited to four feet in height; and <br />WHEREAS, Thomas Chamberland is requesting a 2-1 /2 foot variance to construct a 6-1 /2 <br />foot tall board-on-board fence within his front yard; and <br />WHEREAS, the front yard of a lot is that area contained within the required 30 foot front <br />yard setback; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Chamberland has a comer lot fronting Sheldon Street and County Road C; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Chamberland desires to provide sound and safety protection for his family <br />along the comer lot front yard (south) or adjacent to County Road C; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Chamberland's fence will be located feet from the property line and <br />not obstruct the view triangle nor front yard view of adjacent properties; and <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on the request <br />on Wednesday, June 14, 2000, and recommended (7-O) approval of the requested variance, subject <br />to the following findings and conditions: <br />Findings: <br />The proposed fence would be setback into the property (north of the evergreen trees) and <br />be located outside the clear view triangle at Sheldon Street and County Road C(see <br />attached). The boulevard area along the north side of County Road C is 30 feet wide <br />providing adequate sight line distance. <br />2. The location of the property adjacent to County Road C and across from a light <br />industrial area and the rail line adversely impacts the privacy of the applicant and his <br />family. <br />
