S. 6216 & 2783
I-35W & T.H. 36 Commons Area
Dear Mr. Morgan:
Thank you for taking time to express your concern about the noise levels emanating from
the above referenced highway. An acoustical noise survey (see attachment) was conducted
at your house on October 25, 1991. The results of the survey are as follows:
L,eq
L10
Monitored `Noise Level
(dBA)
65.8
67.5
State and Federal Noise
Level Standard
(dBA)
67
70
As can be seen from the Noise Abatement Criteria sheet, these noise levels are in
compliance with Federal Criteria for noise.
While monitoring the noise levels, I did notice that empty trucks were making a loud
banging noise when they passed over a raised or lowered joint in the pavement. I contacted
one of our maintenance supervisors about this problem and he inspected the problem
concrete joint. He concluded that Mn/DOT will correct this problem in the near future.
♦ ►
MINIVESOTA
1990
An Equal Opportunity Employer
,`
1

,
