REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />DATE: 09/25/00 <br />ITEM NO.: E—� <br />Department Approval: Mana er e'ewed: Agenda Section: <br />� � Organizational Business <br />Item Description: TH 36 Landscaping Master Plan Task Force Membership <br />Background: On July 10, 2000 the City Council established a task force to guide the preparation of a <br />landscaping master-plan for TH 36 within Roseville. Applications for this task force were solicited and 15 <br />applications were received by the August 18, 2000 deadline. In addition to the applications, the Parks and <br />Recreation Commission has designated a member, Marilyn Pearson Florian, to serve on this task force. <br />As seen on the attached map, the applicants represent a broad cross section of the community. The task force would be staffed by Karl Keel, Roseville's Director of Public Works and Todd <br />Carroll, a landscape architect with the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The goal of the task force <br />would be to develop a schematic master plan for the TH 36 corridor that considers the following elements: <br />❑ Screening of adjoining properties <br />v Overall landscape image <br />❑ Community entry treatments <br />❑ Corridor landscape design theme <br />o Installation methods/cost <br />o Maintenance cost <br />o Available resources <br />v Corridor priorities <br />
