Policy Implications: In 1997, the Council adopted a policy for the appointment of advisory commissions <br />and other citizen groups. The policy sets a formal selection procedure for all standing advisory commissions. <br />The policy leaves fle�bility in the appointment procedure for other task forces and citizen groups. As <br />approved by the Council, the following procedure was followed: <br />July 10, 2000 <br />July 15, 2000 <br />July 16 — 30, 2000 <br />August 18, 2000 <br />September25, 2000 <br />Council approval of task force and procedure <br />Invitations sent to properties adj acent to TH 36 <br />Task Force advertised in Review and Focus and City webpage, bulletin board and <br />cable television <br />Deadline for applications <br />City Council considers appoint of task force members <br />Financial implications: The preparation of the Master Plan will be accomplished with City and Mn/Dot <br />staff and will be funded out of the existing budget. Depending on the outcome of the Master Plan, <br />implementation may require additions to future budgets. Initially, however, it is anticipated that the maj ority <br />of implementation items will be constructed as part of larger Mn/Dot construction proj ects or through <br />Mn/Dot's Landscape Partnership Program. <br />RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION: <br />Approval of a motion appointing the 16 applicants listed in the above Request for Council Action to serve on <br />the TH 36 Landscaping Master Plan Task Force. <br />Prepared by: Karl Keel <br />
