Department A <br />1� � <br />Request for Council Action <br />Date:ll/27/00 <br />Item Number: c-1 <br />Manager Approval Agenda Section <br />� �� Consent <br />Item Description: Request to reject bids for the refurbishment of Engines 21 and 31. <br />BACKGROi1ND: With the approval of Council on October 2, 2000, the fire department advertised for <br />bids for the refurbishment of Engines 21 and 31. The bids were opened on November 1, 2000 and <br />reviewed by staff. The one bid received did not meet the goals and specifications established by staff. <br />POLICY IMPLICATIONS: The bid specifications authorized the City to accept or reject any and all <br />bids. <br />FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: The only financial implication would be the cost to re-advertise for bids. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommendation is for Council to reject the bid for the <br />refurbishment of Engines 21 and 31. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REOUESTED: Motion to reject the bid that was received by November 1, 2000 for <br />the refurbishment of Engines 21 and 31. <br />
