D. Regulation of DangerousAnimal� 3. An Owner of a dangerous ani mal must notify the City i n writi ng of the ani mal' s de�ath or its transfer e�e +h� to a nc�v location withi n 30 days of de�ath or transfer, and must execute an affidavit of de�ath or transFer as requested by the City. 4 Tho (`�+. �,Y,�., r�„ �i ro �n� i,��rno,-,,, ,�. �ni m�l 4r� ho A n Owner of a danqerous ani mal must have the ani mal steri I ized at the Owner's eacpense. The Owner must provi de proof of steri I ization of the ani mal to the City. I f the Owner does not have the ani mal steri I i zed; w i thi n 30 davs of the danqerous ani mal d�termi nati on, the ani mal control authori ty � shal I sei ze the ani mal and have the ani mal steri I i zed �at the Owner' s expense. _ 6. A person that � transfers a dangerous ani mal must notify the �sk►�e� new Owner that the ani mal has been identified asdangerous, and must also notify theCity inwriting, providing thene�v Owner's name, address and tel ephone number. 7. The City shal I seize a danqerous ani mal if, after 14 days after the Owner has noti ce that the ani mal i s danqerous, theanimal is not validly reqistered asadanqerousanimal or theOwner has not secured the requi red I i abi I ity i nsurance or sur�ty coveraqe. The Cit�may seize a dangerous ani mal if any other of the requi rements contai ned i n thi s subdi vi si on have not been m�. A sei zed ani mal may be recl ai med upon payment of i mpoundi ng and conf i nement costs and proof that the requi rements of thi s Ordi nance �v+N-�e have been m�. A n ani mal not recl ai med wi thi n seven days wi I I be destroyed, and the Owner wi I I be I i abl e for al I costs i ncurred i n conf i ni ng and di sposi ng of the ani mal . A person cl ai mi nq an i nterest i n a sei zed ani mal mav prevent disposition of theanimal bv postinq security in an amount sufficient to providefor the ani mal's actual cost of care and keepi nq. The security must be posted withi n 7 days of the seizure i ncl usive of the date of the seizure.
