Presentations <br />11. Public Hearings <br />a. Conduct a Public Hearing for the Placement of Water Ski Course and Jump <br />on Lake Owasso <br />At the request of Mayor Klausing, Acting Police Chief Rick Mathwig clarified <br />that the City Council action was to host a public hearing to solicit public input <br />that would be forwarded to the Ramsey County Sheriffs office for their consider- <br />ation of issuing the permit for a Water Ski Course and Jump on Lake Owasso for <br />the 2010 season. <br />Steve Youngquist, 391 S Owasso Blvd., Representing Lake Owasso Safe <br />Boating Association <br />Mr. Youngquist provided a brief history of the Association, for the benefit of the <br />City Council and residents since the first water ski course was installed on Lake <br />Owasso in 1965. Mr. Youngquist noted the distinction between the Association <br />activities and those activities of other users of the ski course and jump who trai- <br />lered in their equipment between sunup and sundown. Mr. Youngquist assured <br />property owners and residents that the Association members attempted to be good <br />neighbors and respect lakeshore residents in sharing the water in a good way.
