2007 Roseville Home & Garden Fair Appreciation Resolution <br />REQUEST FOR HRA ACTION <br />DATE: 03/20/07 <br />ITEM NO: 8.a. Department Approval: Agenda Section: <br />CB ACTION Item Description: City of Roseville, 2007 Home and Garden Fair: Resolution of Appreciation <br />1.0 BACKGROUND 1.1 On February 24, 2007, the Roseville HRA held the 11 th annual City of Roseville Home and <br />Garden Fair, at the Fairview Community Center Gymnasium. The Fair has become increasingly <br />popular with both exhibitors and th e general public. This popularity is due in large part to the <br />over 450 hours volunteers have dedicated toward the effort to professionalize the Fair by making <br />it informative and fun for the attendees as well as profitable for the exhibitors. <br />1.2 This year the Home and Garden Committee starte d planning the Fair in July 2006. The result of <br />the ongoing efforts for the 2007 Home and Garden Fair produced 76 diverse exhibit booths, 24 <br />informative seminars that attracted reco rd attendance by the public of over 900. <br />1.3 Again this year the coordinating committee was successful in obtaining private Sponsorships. <br />Each sponsor contributed $550 to help to offset to costs of the fair. The continued support of the <br />sponsors demonstrates the private commitment to the success of the Fair. <br /> <br />2.0 STAFF RECOMMENDATION 2.1 The staff recommends that the HRA acknowledge th e efforts of the volunteers that participated in <br />the 2007 Home and Garden Fair by approving the attached resolution thanking them for the many <br />hours dedicated to the success of the Fair. <br /> <br />3.0 SUGGESTED HRA ACTION 3.1 By resolution extend the HRA’s appreciation a nd gratitude to the Sponsors and to all the <br />volunteers who participated in the 2007 Roseville Home and Garden Fair.
