REQUEST FOR HRA ACTION Staff Approval: � Date: 6-17-08 Item No: 9b Agenda Section: Action Item Item Description: Consideration of 2008 Housing Redesign Program Application for 2497 Brenner Street 1.0 Requested Action By motion, approve a Housing Redesign Program Application for design services reimbursement for the improvements at 2497 Brenner Street in Roseville. 2.0 Background 2.1 The HRA Housing Redesign Program provides assistance up to $3,000 for architect/design fees to assist Roseville homeowner's, who meet specific eligibility criteria, make home renovations that affect the exterior appearance and street appeal of the home. 2.2 The program purpose is to provide an incentive for homeowners to invest in remodeling their older style home in a way that the design will be adaptable for the next generation with more functionality and creativity. 2.3 The specific goals of the program are: 1. Encourage homeowners to put professional design, value, and utility back into the City's older housing stock (pre 1983) and add aesthetic appeal to the existing structure. 2. Assist families with incomes less 120% who would like to remain in Roseville and create an adaptable home for their family and a more marketable home for the next owner. 3. Make two or more improvements to the home that are demonstrated in the remodeling of the home. In this instance, the home owners are adding main floor family room, adding a master bedroom suite and enlarging bathroom. 3.0 Application Review 3.1 The owners of 2497 Brenner Street, Jennifer and Michael Millasovich submitted an application for the program in early May for review. As part of the program review process an eligibility criteria checklist was prepared and income was verified to make sure the home owner met the criteria's.
