REQUEST FOR HRA ACTION <br />Staff Approval: <br />� <br />Date: 6-17-08 <br />Item No: 9b <br />Agenda Section: <br />Action Item <br />Item Description: Consideration of 2008 Housing Redesign Program Application for <br />2497 Brenner Street <br />1.0 Requested Action <br />By motion, approve a Housing Redesign Program Application for design services reimbursement <br />for the improvements at 2497 Brenner Street in Roseville. <br />2.0 Background <br />2.1 The HRA Housing Redesign Program provides assistance up to $3,000 for <br />architect/design fees to assist Roseville homeowner's, who meet specific eligibility <br />criteria, make home renovations that affect the exterior appearance and street appeal of <br />the home. <br />2.2 The program purpose is to provide an incentive for homeowners to invest in remodeling <br />their older style home in a way that the design will be adaptable for the next generation <br />with more functionality and creativity. <br />2.3 The specific goals of the program are: <br />1. Encourage homeowners to put professional design, value, and utility back into the <br />City's older housing stock (pre 1983) and add aesthetic appeal to the existing structure. <br />2. Assist families with incomes less 120% who would like to remain in Roseville and <br />create an adaptable home for their family and a more marketable home for the next <br />owner. <br />3. Make two or more improvements to the home that are demonstrated in the <br />remodeling of the home. In this instance, the home owners are adding main floor family <br />room, adding a master bedroom suite and enlarging bathroom. <br />3.0 Application Review <br />3.1 The owners of 2497 Brenner Street, Jennifer and Michael Millasovich submitted an <br />application for the program in early May for review. As part of the program review <br />process an eligibility criteria checklist was prepared and income was verified to make <br />sure the home owner met the criteria's.
