Action Items <br />a. 2009 RHRA Work Plan <br />Chair Maschka noted that he had worked with staff to achieve this proposed work plan, and <br />sought input from individual Commissioners if it was inclusive, or if there were additional <br />items or opporluniries. Chair Maschka noted the need to monitor and identify grant <br />opporiunities that may become available with the signing of the Economic Srimulus Plan <br />approved earlier that day by the federal government. _ <br />Executive Director Patrick Trudgeon reviewed the list, noring that it was a d � mic document, <br />and had been divided quarterly for 2009. , <br />Chair Maschka sought informarion from Councilmember Pust as tQ�; ':��� o, the ncil or <br />the RHRA, would develop guidelines for future use of HIA fundi�g. ��" <br />G rc,:� <br />Councilmember Pust advised that there had been considera�e discussion at the Cit��ouncil <br />level related to criteria for considering this type of finan�ig tool. ouncilmember Pust noted <br />that, since this was the first application and since it l��.een pro ntroversial throughout <br />its development, she opined that it would be of ����� �"' ' e to the City Council if the <br />RHRA could make guideline recommendations to the Ci cil as a starting point for their <br />discussion and deliberations. w..�. <br />Executive Director Trudgeon noted tl�at, unless eatended, current� �� A legislation would sunset <br />in June of 2009; and suggested that, if' t� ��� �' as a viable option, staff would then suggest <br />RHRA policy discussions for reco� ��`' �i� `Council. Ms. Kelsey advised that staff <br />�' s�tintinuing to monitor funding in cooperation with Ramsey County and other levels of <br />'��'itrnment, unless specifically directed to municipalities. Ms. Kelsey further advised that <br />��aff continues to seek networking opporluniries, and was actively involved in what had <br />originally been created as the I-35W Corridor Coalition, with that group, newly-designed, <br />continuing to meet monthly for the purpose of tracking such items of interest. Ms. Kelsey <br />advised that the group had recently received a grant to secure a facilitator to assist the group in <br />obtaining more precise information. <br />Councilmember Pust noted the positive progress made to-date on code enforcement issues; and <br />suggested considerarion be given to further refining that program by providing additional <br />education to citizens.
