HRA Meeting
Minutes – Tuesday, June 16, 2009
Page 7
Chair Maschka encouraged staff to provide more emphasis to the HRA’s sponsorship or role,
through type font and/or logo manipulation.
Further discussion included how to enhance the contact information, via staff phone contact or
internet; whether to make this part of discussions at a regular meeting or both; what the HRA
was attempting to accomplish with the periodic newsletter focus; how to increase the visibility
of the HRA to the Council and the community; and a comprehensive look at all of the HRA’s
communication tools and available resources, and their consistency in getting the message to
residents.
Ms. Kelsey suggested that the City’s communication staff attend an upcoming regular meeting
to provide their expertise on what the HRA’s consistency message should be; and also
suggested including George Hornick, designer of the marketing materials. Members
concurred.
Ms. Kelsey advised that staff’s next step was to get information easier to find on the website
(i.e., cross-referencing and branding), noting that she would be training to do updating of the
information and minor editing, rather than depending on Mr. Hornick, with his expertise
focused on design elements.
Discussion among members and staff included residents providing e-mail information to the
City for ready access to programs and resources; and reluctance of residents to provide e-mail
information.
d.Board & Staff Reports
None.
12.
