� i, <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 03/22/2010 <br />Item No.: $� 1 <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />/`��� �'�`� <br />Item Description: Accept a Ramsey County Homeland Security and Emergency Management <br />$7,567.70 Grant for the purchase of 800 Mhz Radio Equipment <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Fire Department has applied for, and received a grant from the Ramsey County Homeland <br />Security and Emergency Management division to purchase 800Mhz radio equipment totaling <br />$7,567.70. This grant will allow the Fire Department to purchase two (2) mobile radio units for <br />Fire Apparatus. By utilizing this grant, the Fire Department will be able to avoid having to <br />spend budget money on radio equipment that is in need of replacement. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br />The Fire Department will see no financial impact from the acceptance of this grant as it will <br />cover the full cost of purchasing the new radio equipment. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends council accept the grant for Radio Equipment from the Ramsey County <br />Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division. <br />REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />Authorize the Fire Department to accept a grant in the amount of $7,567.70 from the Ramsey <br />County Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division for purchasing Radio <br />Equipment. <br />Prepared by: Timothy O'Neill, Acting Fire Chief <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />
