Special Education and Outreach <br />Special Events <br />On April 19, 2008, Eureka 1?.ecycling participated in the city of Roseville's Earth Day <br />event at Harriet Alexander Nature Cen.ter.. Approximately 300 Roseville residents enjoyed <br />getting up close to Rosie, the award-winning recycling collection. vehicle that was named <br />in Roseville. Eureka Recycling staff'had many conversations with residents about the <br />recycling program. Eureka Recycling staff also enjoyed educating children. on recycling <br />through a recycling game that teaches them the sorting ofbean-bag "recyclables" and <br />tossing them into the trough of a wooden mini recycling truck. <br />In Addition to attending the Earth Day event, Eureka Recycling has worked ha partnership <br />with city staff to support efforts to make many city events zero-waste. Eureka Recycling <br />has provided containers and material processing for several city events including; the Run <br />for the Roses, Roseville's Wild lZice Festival and several summertime city staff picnics. <br />Milk Cartons and Juice Boxes <br />In 2007 Eureka Recycling entered into a new partnership with. Tetra Pak to make it <br />possible for residents to recycle their juice boxes and milk, soy, anal broth cartons at the <br />curb. Tetra Pak received a grant from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency in 2006 to <br />ensure their packaging gets recycled in Minnesota. Tetra Pak partnered with Eureka <br />Recycling to collect this material from its curbside programs in Lauderdale, Maplewood, <br />Roseville, Arden Hills, St Louis Park anal Saint Paul and to process those materials at its <br />facility.
