~~~
Churchill/ Oxford Watermain
Maintenance P r o j e c t
~a Y,jp~- Q. D - - v - ~40 0 9
Proiect Update:
The contractor has successfully completed the
water main construction. On Monday, all properties
were connected to the new water main, and the
City has abandoned the existing line through the
backyards. No more work is scheduled until spring
restoration.
If you experience low water pressure over the next
few months, please call the Engineering
Department at 651-792-7003. We will schedule an
appointment for our Public Works Maintenance
staff to clean your water meter screen.
Restoration:
Final restoration of disturbed areas will occur in the
spring, once the ground has thawed. The
contractor is required by contract to complete
restoration by June 1, 2010. Restoration includes
the following:
Any excess mounds of dirt or settled areas will
be re-compacted and re-graded in the spring
prior to placement of sod.
Fencing: If a section of your fence was removed
for access purposes, it will be permanently
reinstalled in the spring. If you are concerned
with the condition of the temporary fencing for
the duration of the winter, please contact Dean
Findell so that your concerns can be
addressed.
The shut-off valves, or curb boxes, that were
located in your backyards on your old service
line, were cut off at ground level when the old
service was disconnected, and new curb boxes
have been installed in the boulevard behind the
curb. These will be lowered to be flush with the
ground.
The green material that has been sprayed on
mounds of dirt and on exposed soils in the
boulevards throughout the neighborhood is
called hydro-seed, and is a slurry mixture of
seed (turf grass), fertilizer, and a green dye.
This was applied as an erosion control
measure. In the spring, these areas will be re-
graded and sodded.
Other landscaping: We will work with each
property owner to restore any other landscaping
features that may have been disturbed during
construction.
Please contact Dean Findell, Project Coordinator,
at dean.findell(~.ci.roseville.mn.us or 651-792-7046,
if you have any questions about the work to be
done in your yards. We will work with you to
ensure that you are satisfied with the restoration on
your property.
Thank you!
We realize the inconvenience construction projects
cause to property owners, especially with
disruptions to water service, and construction crews
working both in your front and back yards. We
sincerely appreciate your patience throughout the
course of this project. We feel that this was a
successful project that will result in fewer
inconveniences to you as our customer. The
likelihood of water main breaks will be reduced now
that the new water main pipe is in place, and City
crews will be able to access the water main for
future maintenance without disturbing your
backyards.
Please let us knew if you have any questions or
concerns about the project.
Questions?
