Special Education and Outreach <br />Roseville's Earth Day <br />On April 1 S, 2009, Eureka Recycling participated in the City of Roseville's Earth Day <br />event at Harriet Alexander Nature Center. Approximately 500 Roseville residents <br />enjoyed getting up close to Rosie, the award-winning recycling collection vehicle that <br />was named in Roseville. Eureka Recycling staff had many conversations with residents <br />about the recycling program and about waste reduction. In addition Eureka Recycling <br />provided Zero Waste services, allowing residents to really experience that waste is <br />preventable! At the Roseville Earth Day event 92.5 pounds of recycling and 33.1 S <br />pounds of compostable materials were diverted from the waste stream. <br />Zero Waste Composting/Recycling services <br />The City of Roseville's strong commitment to waste reduction allowed additional <br />events to benefit from zero waste services. The City of Roseville collected recycling and <br />composting at the Roseville Home Improvement Fair, the Run for the Roses, and the <br />Wild Rice Festival and partnered v~rith Eureka Recycling to ensure these materials were <br />diverted from the waste stream. <br /> <br /> <br />Make Dirt <br />~ <br />Not Waste ' <br /> <br />
