Is it recyclable, compostable, reusable ar waste? Mosi
of the materials you bring have green alternatives. For example, use compostable packing peanuts instead
of Styrofoam packing peanuts. Purchasing bulk samples instead of individually packaged makes a difference.
Remember, the amount of waste the Fair produces is largely dependant on what you bring. Bring
only what you need; leave behind the stuff that clutters booth space and makes clean-up harder.
Waste Recovery Bins are available for compost, recycling and garbagellandfill. When you arrive, locate the closest
waste recovery bin to your booth. Also, direct visitors to use the closest waste recovery bin.
=ii3AGElLANDFILL -NON

Food scraps from vendors and
Containers (Bottles and Cans), - ,,, r„ ^, c~ f F F ~, /, i r~ I C. i s
`
visitors. Make every effort to remove your waste as soon as possible.
When looking for a good giveaway item, choose items that minimize trash. Good ideas include cotton or hemp
tote bags, food in recycled-paper wrapping instead of plastic, recycled plastic Frisbees, pens and other items, and
ceramic mugs. Stay away from plastic bags, wood, and non-recycled materials. Print your collateral and promotional
catalogs on recycled paper stock, using vegetable-based inks.
energy-efficient lighting
Incandescent light bulbs are inefficient. They emit only 10% of the energy they use as light. The rest is given oft as
heat which is why these bulbs can catch your lampshade and exhibit skirts or covers on fire if you're not careful.
Use fluorescent bulbs instead as they are much more energy efficient.
