<br />REQUEST FOR HRA ACTION <br />Date: 04-19-05 <br />Item No: 4.a. <br />Staff Approval: Agenda Section: <br /> Announcements <br />Item Description: Fair Housing Month Proclamation <br />Background <br />1.0 <br />th <br />April marks the 37 Anniversary of the passage of the Federal Fair Housing Law which declared <br />discrimination in the sale, rental or financing of housing based on race, color, religions, sex, <br />handicap, family status or national origin as unlawful. <br />Keeping with the spirit of the HRA’s mission to “plan, implement and manage housing projects <br />and activities for the citizens in the community by providing equal opportunity for quality, <br />decent and safe homes and a suitable living environment; and strengthening partnerships <br />among all levels of government, non-profit and for-profit organizations to maximize social and <br />economic opportunity”, the HRA has been asked to officially proclaim April as Fair Housing <br />Month in the City of Roseville. <br />Suggested HRA Action <br />2.0 <br />Proclaim April 2005 as Fair Housing Month in the City of Roseville and read the attached <br />proclamation. <br />Attachments: Proclamation <br />Prepared by: Cathy Bennett (792-7072) <br />RHRA_Proclamation (04-19-05) - Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />
