b.Update on Twin Lakes Stakeholder Process (PF3552) Dennis Welsch explained the progress on Twin Lakes plans, noting that more than six weeks of site planning will take place from May through mid-July with reports to all Commissions and the Council. c.Update on Applewood Court homes and Groundbreaking Ceremony Bennett explained that the house plans have received building permit approval and should begin construction in early June. In addition a new appraisal for the Applewood homes has been ordered at the recommendation of Board member Ann Hermes to help identify the future value of the homes once completed. Bennett noted that over 25 prequalification applications have been sent out (deadline is June th 14). All materials are on the web page and the “Housing Link” will be delivered to all residents next week as an insert into the City newsletter. Also both School Districts have received the information to be th forwarded to teachers. The selection of qualified buyers will be done by lottery on July 9. Bennett also indicated that a ground breaking ceremony for the five homes will be held on June 1, at 4:00 p.m... A flyer was distributed. By consensus, the Board agreed the groundbreaking date was acceptable. d.Overview of 2005 Budget Process Bennett explained the budget schedule for 2005 with the goal to approve a budget and proposed levy by August to forward to the City Council. She also explained the 2004 budget and expenditures to date. e.Possible Summer “Housing Summit” Dennis Welsch explained Chairman Bill Majerus’ work to set up a Housing Summit with the City Council and HRA this summer. Chair Majerus is expected to report with a date at the June meeting. f.Other Board Member & Staff Reports Member Marks reported on the blessing of the Habitat Homes in Applewood.
