<br />-2- <br /> <br />C. The employee attains a grade of "C" or better in the <br />course. <br /> <br />,D. The attendance of the employee at the course sessions <br />has been satisfactory. <br /> <br />E. The employee will attend classes and do class preparation <br />outside of his work time for which he is compensated by the <br />municipality. If course work cannot be scheduled so as to <br />not conflict with work scheduling the department will <br />consider scheduling of work to permit completion of course <br />work. The ultimate decision as to whether or not course <br />work merits work re-scheduling will be made by the Chief <br />of Police. <br /> <br />F. The employee agrees to not voluntarily leave Village <br />employment for at least one year following completion of <br />all course work or refund all tuition, book costs and <br />fees received from the municipality during the year <br />immediately preceding termination. <br /> <br />II. The program shall be based upon the quarter credit system <br />practiced at the University of Minnesota. Courses based on <br />any other credit system shall be converted to the quarter <br />credit system by the Village Manager. <br /> <br />III. College incentive compensation shall be paid in addition to <br />base salary, at the rate of 40~ per approved quarter credit <br />per month, up to a maximum of 135 quarter credits. A four year <br />degree consisting of 180 or more quarter credits shall be <br />compensated, in addition to base salary, at the rate of $80 <br />per month. <br /> <br />IV. College incentive compensation for the first 135 quarter <br />credits shall be based on the accumulation of quarter credits <br />as of July 1 of the year preceding. <br /> <br />V. In order to qualify for the program, earned college credits <br />must be graded at "e" or better and must be certified to and <br />approved by the Village Manager. <br /> <br />VI. Candidates for college incentive compensation must have <br />completed one year of service with the Roseville Police <br />Department. <br /> <br />VII. College incentive compensation shall be considered in <br />computing pay rates for overtime and severance benefits. <br />
