OTHER BUISNESS <br />E-1 Public Hearing on the draft GLWMO Watershed Management Plan <br />Karen Chandler presented an overview of the draft plan and answered <br />questions from the Board and public. The following members of the <br />public were in attendance and voiced concern and comments. <br />Dick Fowler - 3108 West Owasso Boulevard: Mr. Fowler expressed <br />support of the GLWMO efforts to protect water quality in Lake Owasso. <br />He felt additional effort should be given to communication and <br />coordination with the Lake Owasso Association. <br />Gerald Wagner - 1286 Burke Avenue: Mr. Wagner cautioned the Board <br />about relying too heavily on chemical analysis of water quality. Mr. <br />Wagner felt that it is valuable to study the biological makeup of water and <br />to review indicator species to understand the state of water quality. <br />Nancy Hoyt - 4276 Reiland Lane: Ms. Hoyt stated that it is important that <br />the <br />GLWMO work with other organizations like the Snail Lake Improvement <br />District to coordinate activities. <br />Ernest Willenbring - 832 Lovell Avenue: 1VIr. Willenbring proposed the <br />construction of a canoe channel from Bennett Lake to Lake Owasso. This <br />project would restore the original wetland system that existed before <br />development and would be an asset to the recreational use of the area. <br />Soderbeck moved to close the public hearing, Roessler seconded. <br />Ayes: 4 Nays: 0 <br />E-2 Other Business Raised by the Board <br />The Board asked how many final plans would be produced. The <br />Board was supportive of producing the fewest number of plans <br />possible and making the plan available in electronic format (CD) and <br />on the web. <br />2. Maloney updated the Board on the status of the Cobra/Cartigan <br />Junction issue. A tentative agreement has been reached between the <br />
