Response to EAW Comments <br />Apri127, 1995 <br />Page 3 <br />Commenting Agencu: Metropolitan Council <br />Comment: This project is consistent with Metropolitan Council policies and no formal action <br />will be taken by the Council. The proposers should work with the DNR to minimize <br />the adverse impacts to the wetland. <br />Response: As mentioned by the DNR comment, the GLWMO has worked closely with the DNR <br />to make this project to achieve the stated goals and minimize the impact to the <br />wetland complex. <br />Commenting A~ nc~: Minnesota Historical Society <br />Comment: The probability of significant historical or archeological properties within the project <br />area is low. The "no" response to question 26a is appropriate. <br />Response: No response is necessary. <br />Commenting Agenci~: Minnesota Pollution Control Agencu <br />Comment: Item 17 identifies erosion and sedimentation measures to be employed during <br />construction. What features of the project will protect the reconstructed wetland <br />from sedimentation after completion of the project. <br />Response: The area below the water line will not require stabilization. The disturbed area <br />above the water line will be stabilized in accordance with the specifications prepared <br />for the project. <br />Comment: What measures have been considered to reduce the upland and upstream nutrient <br />sources? <br />Response: The GLWMO is in the process of developing Lake Management Plans for Lake <br />Owasso. Additional efforts within the subwatershed may be a part of the <br />recommended action plan for Lake Owasso. <br />
