Grass Lake Watershed Management Organization
SE Quarterly Consultant Report
May 1,1997
I attended the March 12, 1997 Watershed Partners meeting (copy of minutes enclosed).
The Watershed Partners is an informal group of watershed managers which began last
year with a grant from the Metropolitan Council. A number of different entities have
chosen to participate (see the copy list of the minutes). Participation in this group
provides a good resource to exchange information about the activities of other watersheds
and environmental agencies. This information will be useful in the implementation of the
GLWMO's information and education program. Based upon my experience from the
March meeting, I would suggest that the GLWMO participate in this group (there is no
membership fee).
An interactive satellite video conference entitled, "Community Water Education for
Youth Focus on Watersheds" is being sponsored by one of the Watershed Partners
participants. I have enclosed information regarding this event. This is open to the public
and GLWMO Board Members may want to consider attendance. I have contacted the
Minnesota Extension Service and requested a copy of the videotape of this conference.
It is my intention to make this videotape available to the Board Members to view at their
convenience.
