MINNI/SOT,A EXTENSION SERVICE
UN(VFRSITY OF (VI(NNESOT,4
Water Resources Center
Suite 302
1518 Cleveland Avenue N
St Paul MN 55108
(612)624-9282 (612)625-2282
Fax: (612)625-1263
DATE: 20 March 1997
TO: Watershed Partners
FROM: Barbara Liukkonen, Water Resources Education Coord
On May 1 the Minnesota Extension Service and Water Resources Center are
co-sponsoring, with the Watershed Partners, a satellite videoconference called
"Community Water Education for Youth." Enclosed is a registration brochure.
As per our discussion at the Watershed Partners meeting on March 12, I've enclosed a
copy-ready version of the brochure so you can make and distribute copies to your
audiences. Please note that we missed including the April 15 registration date on the
brochure (see the blue copy for proof o), but realized it in time to add it to your white
copy (it's supposed to look like we stuck it on that way on purpose, to make it more
noticeable). I realize that an April 15 registration deadline doesn't give much promotion
time, but we need to order books from Wisconsin and make copies for participants so
we need the two weeks notice.
We're looking forward to showcasing the Watershed and connecting participants who
might want to use the display with Watershed Partners. Currently we have a room
reserved that will seat 80 in a classroom style, but if we get many more than that
registered, we may need to make other arrangements ... so register early and
encourage your clientele to register early, too.
Stephen Carlson, U of MN Extension Service, and Tracy Fredin, Hamline Center for
Global Environmental Education, will be co-hosting the metro program. For more
information about the conference or to link with. the Wisconsin Extension conference
page, check our web page at http://www.mes.umn.edu/Nwater/wglt.html or call Tracy
Thomas at 625-2282.
Urv!\!-RSITr OF P•AIPJNESOTti.
