Date: 7/31/97 Prepared by: Mark Maloney Item: A-3 <br />Organizational Items <br />Item Description: Staff reports on pending matters <br />L New developments/projects within Shoreview affecting the GLWMO: <br />a. Highway 96 -Segment 3 <br />The Ramsey .County project is progressing slowly. Gas (NSP) and telephone (US West). <br />crews are nearly done with the on-site relocating their utilities for this phase. Electric <br />(NSP) has begunraising overhead lines in the fill areas. Meredith Cable and NSP <br />Electric have completed joint trench burying of cables on the south side of Highway 96 at <br />Lexington Only the cut over to these new facilities remains to be done on the east/west <br />portion.. More work remains on the north/south' portion on Lexington Avenue. <br />Delays due to additional mucking and the recent wet weather have slowed the project. <br />Storm sewer work is progressing towards Lexington Avenue. The sedimentation ponds <br />have been consructed and are functioning. By next week all the main line storm sewer <br />should be completed from Dale to Lexington. Additional mucking needs to be completed <br />at Dale before the storm sewer and water main can be installed from Dale to Mackubin. <br />The current schedule for concrete road paving is anticipated to be mid- August. <br />b. Community Center Underpass <br />MN/DOT has awarded the contract to Shafer Construction.. The pre-cast culvert sections <br />.have been manufactured and no delay in the Highway 96 project is expected as result of <br />the underpass project. Installation of the underpass will occur along with Highway 96 <br />construction contract. <br />c. Horseshoe Drive <br />A second informational newsletter has been sent to affected residents. The storms caused <br />sloppy road conditions, but the project remains on schedule. Additional steps have been <br />.taken to reduce the sediment entering Lake Wabasso. Over the next few weeks the storm <br />sewer will be installed and work on the water services will continue. It is anticipated that <br />all underground utility work will be completed by the end of the month. <br />
